Hardeep Singh, MD, MPH
Hardeep Singh, MD, MPH, an investigator with HSR’s Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt), was invited to join the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Lucian Leape Institute (LLI), a think tank composed of international thought leaders dedicated to improving patient safety. Dr. Singh will work with the LLI on safety-related innovations necessary to expedite progress, create sustainable improvements in culture, process, and outcomes, and encourage key decision makers to take active roles in improving patient safety.
Dr. Singh’s affiliation with the LLI represents one of the many ways that his work continues to advance healthcare quality and safety worldwide. For example, the World Health Organization cited six papers co-authored by Dr. Singh in its Global Patient Safety Report 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services cited four publications co-authored by Dr. Singh in a collection of 2024 policy changes, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cited 13 of Dr. Singh’s publications in its 2024 actionable guidance for diagnostic excellence.
For nearly two decades at IQuESt, Dr. Singh has led a portfolio of multidisciplinary patient safety research related to measurement and reduction of diagnostic errors in healthcare and improving the use of health information technology such as electronic health records.
