James L. Breeling, M.D., has been appointed the new Director of Bioinformatics for VA's Office of Research and Development (ORD). Dr. Breeling had been detailed to the Director of Bioinformatics position since March 2013. As Director, he manages the information technology portfolio for ORD, including planning, programming, and budget formulation. He also oversees working groups on the security of research data and contributes to the development of VA's mobile applications. Dr. Breeling has sound leadership qualities and proven experience, and will be a valuable asset to VA, and to the Veterans we are honored to serve.
