The VETWISE Learning Health System (LHS) is a Veterans Affairs (VA) Center of Innovation (COIN) based in Nashville, Tennessee dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Veterans through cutting-edge research, data-driven healthcare strategies, and community engagement.
Improving Veteran health and promoting equitable care requires careful focus on the content of care (evidence underpinning what is provided), process of care (implementation of how care is provided and scaled), and policies that drive culture, context, and implementation. By integrating science, informatics, and system-wide healthcare experiences, VETWISE-LHS drives the development of Veteran-centric, personalized, evidence-based, and efficient care.
Veterans have their best quality of life throughout their life journey and to reduce the impact from the burden of acute and chronic disease.
The mission of VETWISE-LHS is to advance VHA’s ability to provide Veteran-centric, personalized, evidence-based, and efficient healthcare by supporting scientists dedicated to developing and continuously improving a VA Learning Health System.
VETWISE-LHS is built upon the foundation of multi-disciplinary collaboration across several key areas:
Together, these core areas work to prevent early-stage diseases and improve the treatment of complex acute and chronic illnesses.
