Celina M. Yong, MD, MBA, MSc is a CDA awardee, interventional cardiologist, and Director of Interventional Cardiology at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She received her MD from Stanford School of Medicine, MBA from Oxford University, and MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Economics/London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency from the University of California at San Francisco, and her Cardiology, Chief Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Stanford University Hospital.

Dr. Yong's research interests are focused on (1) optimizing access, appropriateness, and quality of minimally invasive procedures for Veterans, (2) understanding and reducing disparities in procedural cardiovascular care, and (3) using low-cost, high-tech tools to improve cardiovascular care. Her career development award focuses on developing and testing a novel individualized decision aid to help elderly Veterans decide whether to pursue novel minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures.
