Lucas Donovan, MD, MS, is a sleep specialist, pulmonologist, and health services researcher. He is a Core Investigator at the Seattle-Denver HSR&D Center of Innovation, staff physician at VA Puget Sound, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington. He received his MD from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and completed post-graduate clinical training in internal medicine with further specialization in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
Dr. Donovan's research focuses on measuring and improving access to sleep care services in ways that maximize quality, efficiency, and Veteran experience. Dr. Donovan is currently supported by a VA HSR&D Career Development Award designed to integrate non-specialists into the delivery of evidence-based care for sleep disorders. He is also principal investigator of a VA Merit Award (IIR 20-240) testing the effectiveness of a remote and self-directed lifestyle intervention among Veterans with obstructive sleep apnea and obesity.
