Elizabeth M. Yano, Ph.D., M.S.P.H., co-Director and Senior Scientist at the VA HSR&D Center for the Study of Provider Healthcare Behavior in Sepulveda, CA, has been appointed to the editorial board of the journal Women's Health Issues.
Dr. Yano, who is also an Adjunct Professor of Health Services at the UCLA School of Public Health, has more than 20 years of health services research experience, most recently leading studies assessing the influence of practice characteristics on facility performance and health outcomes. She has also studied alternate delivery models in primary care, quality of inpatient HIV care, evidence-based quality improvement approaches for smoking cessation, and collaborative care for depression. Moreover, she has contributed extensively to VA's ongoing commitment to making healthcare for women Veterans gender appropriate, accessible, and effective.
Women's Health Issues is a peer-reviewed, bimonthly, multidisciplinary journal that publishes research related to women's healthcare and policy.
