Abstract:

In this chapter we critically review empirical research on the treatment course of substance use disorder-posttraumatic stress disorder (SUD-PTSD) comorbidity. We highlight treatment implications in an attempt to profile the state of the art in treating this particular comorbidity. We hope to encourage the development of a set of evidence-based practice guidelines specific to the treatment of SUD-PTSD comorbidity.
