Abstract:

Dementia, especially Alzheimer's disease (AD), is 1 of the most prevalent diseases of older adults in the United States, with about 1 in 8 persons aged 65 years and nearly 50% of persons aged 85 years diagnosed with AD.1 Overall dementia prevalence among veterans is just over 7%, with AD the most common subtype.2 Dementia rates are expected to rise as the U.S. population ages.1
