Description: This session provides an introduction to the range of existing VA data available for analytic use. A high-level overview of the content of commonly used VA data sources will be presented, as well as resources, documentation, and support for using them. An introductory view to VA's data landscape, this session serves as the kick-off to future Database & Methods sessions that focus on specific data sources and topics.

Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
1. Identify some VA data sources commonly used in research and quality improvement investigation.
2. Describe high level differences in the origin, contents, and use of these data sources.
3. Begin to conceptualize how VA data can be applied to specific research questions or areas of study.
4. Know where to go for data, documentation, resources, and support.
