Elderly Women Veterans: Health and Mental Health Issues

Description: While women are joining the military in increasing numbers, relatively little is known about aging women Veterans compared to their men counterparts. This presentation will provide information on what is known from a large national study of women Vietnam Veterans (VA CSP 579) which examined mortality, mental health concerns (particularly PTSD), diabetes, functional disability, and cognitive impairment.

Target Audience: VA researchers, epidemiologists, and clinicians interested in aging women veterans and their health problems.
