Description: This presentation will describe the NIH-DoD-VA Pain Management Collaboratory, a recently funded tri-organization initiative that supports the conduct of eleven pragmatic clinical trials of non-pharmacological approaches to chronic pain management targeting military service members and veterans. In particular, unique features of pragmatic clinical trial designs, and related topics such as strategies of optimizing participant phenotyping and shared outcomes across trials, optimized use of electronic health record data, data sharing, ethical and regulatory issues, and stakeholder engagement will be discussed.
