Abstract:

This research identified the treatment practices associated with diabetic foot ulcer healing and amputation in veterans and nonveterans. Foot ulcers are a major source of morbidity and precede the majority of amputations; therefore the treatment practices that yielded the best outcomes are important to VA clinicians, patients and payers.
