Doebbeling BN, Garvin JH, Martins SB, Rubin MA. Tools to Facilitate Shared Understanding for Natural Language Processing Design in a Distributed, Virtual Development Environment. Poster session presented at: American Medical Informatics Association Annual Symposium; 2010 Nov 16; Washington, DC.
The Consortium for Healthcare Informatics Research (CHIR) is an interdisciplinary collaboration of scientists at many VA and academic affiliated sites distributed across the United States who work in teams developing innovative information extraction techniques for important VA use cases. One team developing an automated surveillance system for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is using a working use case and work flow diagrams to assist Natural Language Processing (NLP) system development to develop the tools.
