Van Houtven CH. Building a Nation of Caregivers: VA Medical Centers Provide a System-Wide Standard of Care for Eligible Veterans. Research Radio Media Tour (RMT). 2017 Nov 21.

Abstract:

The results from the recent Research Radio Media Tour (RMT), highlighting VA's Caregiver Research, indicate there were 14 Million listeners and 21 confirmed radio station airings throughout the U.S. ORD speaker, Dr. Courtney VanHoutven, emphasized VA's research efforts for Veteran Caregivers and support resources. She discussed VA's specialized education and training efforts that are available to all caregivers, including VAMC caregiver support coordinators that assist Veterans with VA and non-VA support resources. Several radio station hosts shared their personal experiences about Veterans, their family members and friends whom they know have participated in VA research studies, and in particular those that are receiving caregiving support from VA and non-VA sources. Hosts were delighted to share the work VA Research is doing throughout the nation and emphasized that listeners should look up research projects and caregiver support resources if they are unaware of them on the VA website or at their local VA medical centers.
