Abstract:

Examines how the integration of qualitative and quantitative data led to a better understanding of the role of hand hygiene interventions and a clinical trial to assess their efficacy. Study methods included pre and post qualitative evaluations of hand hygiene programs and a cluster randomized control trial (RCT) of three hand hygiene interventions at 10 VA hospitals.
