Description: The Millennium Cohort Program comprises the Millennium Cohort Study of Service members (N ~ 260,000), the Family Study following two cohorts of military spouses (N ~ 28,000), and the Study of Adolescent Resilience (currently enrolling). All three components strive to understand the impact of military stress on service members and their families both during and after service life. This presentation provides an overview of the Millennium Cohort Program. It further summarizes findings to-date related to the adjustment of families separating from service, as well as the adjustment of families in dual-military and military-Veteran relationships.
Target audience: Veteran service providers and researchers supporting Veteran families, and conducting research on military affiliated families; community providers serving military spouses and military affiliated families; academic researchers interested in military family research.DOWNLOAD: PDF handout | Audio only (mp3) | transcript
