Description: This talk will introduce the high-level concepts of Human-Centered Design (HCD) and discuss how they interact with qualitative research at the VA. The human-centered design processes comprises several design cycles during which multiple qualitative and quantitative methods are used in combination with specific design methods as an iterative, collaborative, and people-centered approach to solve complex challenges. We will showcase current examples of VA projects using aspects of HCD and offer insights and resources for those interested in incorporating HCD into their future work.
Intended Audience: This presentation is intended for those who are interested in learning more about HCD methods, how design approaches are being used in VHA research, and for those who would like to incorporate HCD into their future projects.
