Description: The VA Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) goal is to improve Veteran health by accelerating the adoption of evidence into health care practice and policy. QUERI Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) consist of embedded researchers that collaborate with VA clinical and policy partners to facilitate this goal. When the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic brought an urgent need to rapidly develop and implement plans to vaccinate Veterans and employees against COVID-19, QUERI connected three RRTs with the VA National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention to address their critical and timely needs for evaluation of a national COVID-19 vaccination program. In this cyberseminar, we describe experiences and lessons learned from collaborating with clinical partners to rapidly conduct small-scale studies on attitudes towards and intentions of Veterans and employees regarding COVID-19 vaccines and uptake.
Objectives:
1. Provide an overview of Rapid Response Teams in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) program
2. Discuss the experiences of Rapid Response Teams in collaboration with clinical partners to support evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine uptake and hesitancy.
3. Describe findings from QUERI Rapid Response Teams in informing an ongoing COVID-19 vaccination program.
