Engaging Family Supporters to Improve Diabetes Care: The VA CO-IMPACT Randomized Trial and Clinician Toolkit

Description: In this Cyberseminar Dr. Rosland and colleagues will discuss a recently completed VA HSR&D RCT to test a program for Veterans with diabetes and a ‘health supporter’. The 12 month Caring Others-Increasing EngageMent in PACT (CO-IMPACT) program aimed to increase patient and supporter engagement in healthcare and improve patient diabetes outcomes. The team will describe the components of the program, which were delivered virtually. they will then present their main results, lessons learned, and our HSR&D-supported dissemination efforts, featuring the CO-IMPACT Clinician Toolkit. Intended Audience: VA clinicians, researchers, and clinical leaders interested in leveraging family and social support for Veterans managing complex chronic health conditions.
