Description: A rapid qualitative analysis revealed needs of Veterans Health Administration (VHA) employee occupational health (EOH) to keep health care workers safe from COVID-19. Key findings include needs for infrastructure to support population management (e.g., employee facing EHR), mechanisms for information sharing (e.g., VHA EOH listerv), sufficiently-resourced staffing, connected local and national leaders, and strategies for EOH to support healthcare worker mental health. These lessons can inform future pandemic preparedness and may be generalizable beyond both VHA and COVID-19. Intended Audience: These findings provide actionable insights for VHA leadership, EOH providers, and others involved in COVID-19 incident command to help improve COVID-19 management within the healthcare workforce.
