Description: Description: The Veteran Access Research Consortium (VARC) Portfolio Review Workgroup is conducting a 5 year environmental scan of access-related research and operational work with the goal of informing future research efforts related to access. This scan includes a search of publicly available data using web-scraping, text analytics, and natural language processing, as well as structured interviews with operational offices to identify access work that may be unavailable via public sources. The major objectives of this effort are to
(1) identify gaps in the existing research portfolio to inform priorities for future research and
(2) inform partners about access-related products that may be ready for implementation. A key deliverable is a recently launched web-based database of projects identified in the portfolio review.
Intended Audience: A broad range of audiences may be interested in our CyberSeminar: (1) VA researchers and investigators interested in understanding the current access landscape and identifying future collaborations; (2) operational leaders interested in how VA access work has aligned with their priorities; (3) data scientists interested in data-scraping and analytic methods.
