Identifying and Addressing Barriers to Bariatric Surgery within VA

Description: Dr. Funk will discuss findings from Aim 1 of his CDA, in which his team interviewed Veterans with severe obesity and their providers (including PCPs, health psychologists, dietitians and bariatric surgeons). Next he will review short-term results from Aim 2, which include findings from the pilot study of an obesity educational intervention. Finally Dr. Funk will present plans for a proposal for a multi-site RTCT of this educational intervention. Intended Audience: Researchers, providers, and policymakers interested in obesity care within VA
