Description: Understanding the impact of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and conditions more likely to emerge in its wake are of increasing relevance to the VA. Hearing loss and tinnitus are the two most common service connected disabilities, signaling the need for sensitivity to sensory disorders more broadly among TBI-exposed individuals. This presentation will use an administrative data approach to understand prevalence of sensory disorders and examine their association with other common post-concussive complaints and impact on long-term outcomes following service. Intended Audience: Scientists and clinicians interested in understanding the scope of sensory deficits and their potential impact on rehabilitative efforts following exposure to TBI as well as long after military service.
