Description: This presentation will summarize the findings from a prospective study of Army soldiers who were followed from before their first Iraq War deployment at the outset of the war to an average of 7.5 years later. The study examined longitudinal associations among PTSD symptom severity, TBI (deployment and non-deployment), and neurocognitive performance. Results will be discussed in terms of a potentially complex interplay among these variables and the implications of these associations for clinical care. Intended audience: Rehabilitation and mental health specialists engaged in research and/or providing clinical care relevant to contemporary war-zone veterans.
