VA PTSD Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs (PRRTPs): Lessons for Improving PRRTP Services for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans with Severe PTSD

Description: This presentation is based on a mixed methods investigation of VA PTSD-specialized Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs (PRRTPs), focusing on Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns treated for PTSD in these programs beginning in fiscal years (FY) 2005 and 2006. We will describe this Veteran cohort and the PRRTP programs, and then provide an overview of the qualitative interview component of the study including the results of 17 qualitative interviews with PRRTP program directors. Intended Audience: VA policy leaders, mental health program directors, and health services researchers.
