Natalia Imad Khalaf, MD, MPH, FACP, is an investigator in the Clinical Effectiveness and Population Health program at the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt) at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC). Dr. Khalaf is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Baylor College of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. She completed a GI Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Medical Residency at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Khalaf's research interests include acute pancreatitis as a marker of occult pancreatic cancer, emergency presentation of pancreatic cancer, pre-diagnostic imaging in pancreatic cancer, and preventing diagnostic delays in pancreatic cancer care. Her career development award focuses on health informatics approaches to reduce missed opportunities in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
