Dr. Jennifer K. Maratt is a Staff Physician and Investigator at the Center for Health Information and Communication at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Research Scientist in the William M. Tierney Center for Health Services Research at Regenstrief Institute. She received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, then completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. During her fellowship, she received the T32 Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Health for training in epidemiology and health services. Through this program, she received her Master's in Health and Health Care Research.

Dr. Maratt's research is focused on improving access to, and uptake of, high-value gastrointestinal cancer screening and surveillance. She is currently funded on a 5-year HSR Career Development Award titled, "Addressing Under- and Overuse of Colorectal Neoplasia Surveillance Among Veterans" through which she will develop, test, and implement evidence-based interventions to reduce low-value care and optimize appropriate care for individuals with a history of colon polyps and colorectal cancer.
