Emma D. Quach is an Investigator at the Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research (CHOIR) and New England Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the VA Bedford Healthcare System. Dr. Quach received her PhD in gerontology from the University of Massachusetts Boston and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Bedford CHOIR. Her research focuses on the coordination of medical care and long-term care, informal and formal, to enable older adults with complex needs to age in place. Dr. Quach's VA VISN 1 2019-2021 Career Development Award supported her research into VA family caregiver support delivery by VA clinical teams and home care agencies; and VA clinical team facilitation of utilization of home and community-based services by older adults with dementia. Her 2023-2028 HSR&D Career Development Award investigates qualitatively and quantitatively the extent to which family caregivers, home care workers, and VA clinical teams contribute to the prevention of adverse events for older adults with dementia in the home and pilots an in-home intervention to assist family caregivers and home care workers to detect and manage safety risks to older adults with dementia.
