Audrey Jones, PhD, is a Research Health Scientist at the Informatics Decision-Enhancement and Analytic Sciences (IDEAS) Center at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, Co-Director of Evaluation for the Vulnerable Veteran Innovative Patient Aligned Care Team (VIP) Initiative, a five-year clinical and research collaboration to improve health care delivery and outcomes for Veterans with clinical and social vulnerabilities, and Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Jones's research is focused on designing and testing integrated care solutions to improve mental health and substance use disorder services access, quality, and outcomes for vulnerable Veteran populations. Her CDA research compares the quality of mental health and substance use disorder services provided across different primary care service arrangements for Veterans experiencing homelessness. She plans to adapt an organizational survey of homeless patient-aligned care team (H-PACT) structures to query lead providers from primary care clinics about aspects of mental health services integration and quality for Veterans experiencing homelessness, then conduct in-depth stakeholder interviews in facilities with low and high performing H-PACTs to understand variations in service design and quality. Dr. Jones completed her PhD in Health Services Research from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health where her research focused on racial and ethnic disparities in mental health services. At VA, she completed post-doctoral training in health services research at the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System, and an advanced fellowship in medical informatics at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System.
